One of my earliest projects in university and a piece I’m particularly proud of, Rise of Reterra is a concept for a pixel art sidescroller game. The project served as our final assignment after weeks of trial and error, conceptualizing, and testing. The iterative process allowed me to refine my vision and deliver a polished result.
The project includes:
-Tileable Asset Sheet: A collection of pixel art assets used to build a dynamic and cohesive game environment.
-Scene Composition: A game scene created using the tileable assets, showcasing the functionality and aesthetic potential of the sheet.
-Main Menu: Features an illustrated background that sets the tone for the game, alongside UI components derived from the asset sheet.
-GUI Component Sheet: Includes interface elements such as buttons, health bars, and menus, tailored to complement the pixel art style.
-Concept Sketches: Early visual explorations for the game’s environments, providing insight into the creative process and evolution of the final design.
This project represents a foundational milestone in my journey as a designer, demonstrating my ability to combine conceptual thinking with technical execution to create cohesive and functional assets.
