For an assignment in University, I developed a comprehensive style guide for a fictional game titled Grog’s Calling. This project involved creating a cohesive visual profile for the game by defining and documenting its key design principles, including:
-Color Palette: A carefully curated set of colors to reflect the prehistoric era, balancing earthy tones with vibrant accents to evoke adventure and mystery.
-Typography: Made my own font for the title and headings. Selected fonts to convey ruggedness and authenticity while maintaining readability.
-Iconography: Primitive-inspired icons to blend seamlessly with the game’s theme.
-Logotype: A unique logo design that encapsulates the spirit of the game; bold, adventurous, and evocative of its setting.
The guide also includes a GUI mockup, demonstrating how these visual elements would come together in a functional and immersive game interface.
The narrative of Grog’s Calling "a prehistoric action-adventure" shaped every design choice. From crafting a visual identity that complements a world teeming with dinosaurs to creating a sense of mystery and interconnectedness, the style guide serves as both a design framework and an expression of the game’s themes.
